Scripture & Devotional Resources

The word Oremus means "Let us pray" in Latin. The Oremus Bible Browser is a free site which features the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV), which is the version that we use in worship most of the time. Click on the link below to be taken to the Oremus Bible Browser.

Bible Gateway is a free site to look up scriptures as well.  Although it does not have the NRSV, it has a wide range of translations that is helpful for comparison in Bible study.  Click the image below to be directed to the Bible Gateway browser.

For those who like to follow the lectionary, the PC(USA) website has an easy-to-use tool to follow along.  The following link is for the 2 year, daily lectionary from the Book of Common Worship.  Using the buttons next to the calendar on this page, you can also switch to the 3-year Revised Common Lectionary (RCL) Sunday & Festival Readings lectionary.

A great tool for devotions is d365.org, which is written by ministers, professors, students, teachers, missionaries, denominational leaders, and others who work with and care for students. Typically, an author writes on a single theme for one week. In these devotions, you will read honest struggles and questions, all in the context of real faith. As you read the thoughts of the writers, think about your own response to the scripture for the day. Let the writer’s words serve as background for your own conversation with God.  Click on the link below to be taken to d365.org.
