We're thrilled you've decided to stop by and pay us a visit. Make sure to grab a special gift with information about our church after worship. If you have any questions or just want to chat, our Pastor Karen Jackson will be available after the service.
11am Worship in the Sanctuary
Child care for ages 0-5 is offered in the children's wing all morning on Sundays. The Sacrament of Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month. Traditional hymns typically led by the Chancel Choir are accompanied by piano or organ music.
Spiritual Growth Opportunities for All Ages:
Sunday morning classes take place at 9:45-10:45 a.m., September-May. Other spiritual growth offerings occur throughout the week, including monthly.
At First Presbyterian, we joyfully worship God, acknowledging God's presence and responding to God's redemptive work through Jesus Christ. Believers are transformed and renewed, offering themselves to God and preparing for service in the world.
During the school year, we offer two engaging traditional worship services every Sunday at 8:30am and 11:00am.
In the summer, we hold one worship service at 10am.
Please wear what makes you feel comfortable in worship. Most of our congregation tends towards “business casual” or what we in the South sometimes call “church clothes” but we welcome all.
You’ll see plenty of kids in sneakers, shorts, flip flops, soccer jerseys, and other clothes they love.
We are at the corner of 14th Street and Elm Street with parking lots off both streets. Head for our welcome center behind the double glass doors.
We have childcare available from 8:30 - 12:30 Sunday mornings for infants through 5-year-old.
Sunday School starts at 9:45. Older Elementary and youth meet in our lower level, under the sanctuary. Most adult classes are on the second floor which you can reach using the elevator off the Welcome Center.
8:30am & 11am Services
Both services include scripture and preaching as well as unison prayers and hymns printed in the bulletin and on screen for our livestream congregation. Our 8:30 service is a smaller service which features as solo from one of our Choral Scholars, with more piano and sometimes instrumentalists, and includes Communion every week.
We livestream our 11:00am service, which features the choral music of our chancel choir under the direction of Karrie Rushing. Music is a vital part of our worship life, and Brad Collier fills our worship services with hymns, spirituals, classical music and more on both the piano and our Lewtak Organ.
If you'd like to talk to our pastor or connect with a member of our community, let us know! We would love to have a real conversation with you.
